LIPPAN ART
LIPPAN ART , known in English as mud and mirror work , is a traditional mural craft of Kutch , Gujarat. It is usually done with mud or clay with mirrors and the artists make simple to intrinsic details according to their will in this artform.
We could make Lippan Art easily by following a simple few steps which are given below in a simplified manner ,
STEP 1 .
Get a plywood or acrylic board of size of your choice and make a design of your choice or with the help of references , typically it is circles , squares and few mural designs on the medium .
STEP 2
Get a Mouldit clay and mix the harderner and mould base together and roll them into thin strands of thread like structures evenly , you can decide the thickness you need , and stick it along the design you have made.
STEP 3
Let it dry and once dried you are ready to paint it of your choice , typically a white base of paint is given .
STEP 4
Once the first base of paint is dried , you can go ahead to paint vibrant colours of your choice .
STEP 5
Once that is also dried , we could proceed with stick little mirror of various sizes and shapes to enhance our work and let it dry again .
now we have our lippan art good to go .
